A few weeks ago at the Maple Grove Triathlon, I finished 18th overall and 4th in my age group. Not a bad day at the office for a 38-year-old dad. 😜

I wasn’t thrilled with my bike split, but I was really happy with my run, especially considering I’ve only been running twice a week. I also recently found out I have a meniscus tear from a very athletic activity… jumping a fence. 🤦🏻‍♂️

More than anything, I’m just grateful I can still get after it. Training, racing, and balancing it all with family and work isn’t always easy, but I hope my kids see the discipline behind it. And maybe one day they’ll look back and think, “Dang, Dad was actually pretty impressive at 38.” 😂

The best part is having my family there to share these moments with. A triathlon wasn’t enough activity for one day, we still made it out on the pontoon afterward. 🤷🏻‍♂️😜

Next stop: Pontevedra, Spain 🇪🇸 to represent Team USA in the 35–39 age group at the World Triathlon Championships on September 26. 🇺🇸
