I am not sure what brought you to my profile today. You may be looking to buy a house or perhaps you are looking to sell your house or you may just be looking. I would like to challenge you to take a moment and think about what you believe makes someone a good real estate agent? Is it that they sell a lot of houses? Do they list a lot of houses? Do they drive a fancy car? Have they been in the business for years? Did someone you know tell you to use them? Are they are family member? Everyone will have a different list and that is o.k. but I would like to share a few things that I would want if I personally were selecting a real estate agent. I would be curious to see if my list has some similarities to yours.

- I would want someone who is going to be able to answer the phone when I call, someone who will respond to emails in a timely manner, someone who will respond to a text, etc. In this day and age technology is at our fingertips and it should be very easy to contact an agent who is working FOR YOU.
- I would want someone who will openly communicate with me. Someone who isn't going to sugar coat things and will share all details with me regarding the sale or purchase of a home.
- I would want someone who works within a solid company and has a large following in the community.
- I would want someone who is involved and views real estate as their FULL TIME JOB.- I would want someone who is willing to work hard to get the job done. Experience isn't as always important to me because I feel that after years of doing something we often times develop shortcuts and bad habits.
- I would want someone who has a solid knowledge of the area I am looking in and someone who can provide insight on conditions of homes (if buying) and strategies on staging and things to do prior to listing in order to attract attention to my home once it is listed. (if selling.) - I would want someone who does the work themselves. If I am working with an agent because I feel they are successful then I want to work with that agent. I don’t want an assistant behind the scenes handling all of the work that I hired my agent to do.
- I would want someone who is active in hosting open houses, social media, and who is willing to think of creative ways to market my home or find me a home to purchase that may not be currently listed.
- I would want someone who is going to treat me the same as if I had a million dollars to spend or if I had 10 thousand dollars to spend.
- Finally, I would want someone who does their job because that’s what is in their HEART. Someone who loves their job and is EXCITED about the career they picked. Someone who puts their integrity and character first and their own desires in the background while ALWAYS focusing on what is best for their client. So there is my list! I created my list based on how I run my business each and every day. If you can agree with any of the things I mentioned on my list then I WANT TO BE YOUR REALTOR. I can promise you the time and attention that you deserve and I can promise that I will work hard for you everyday until the job is done. If you disagree with the things on my list that is also o.k. I may not be the right agent for you but there are plenty of other great agents and I am sure you will find someone who can share in your opinion.

🌧️ CLEANING UP AFTER THE STORMS? HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

If you’re dealing with flooding or other damage from this week’s storms, the City is providing some additional help with cleanup.

Residents normally receive one bucket of curbside bulk collection at no charge each week, with a $30 fee for each additional bucket. For bulk materials resulting from documented storm or flood damage, the City will waive those additional $30 bucket fees.

To qualify, report your storm or flood damage through the myBloomington online portal - https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/community/report-a-concern or downloading the myBloomington mobile app.

ONLY REPORTED DAMAGE THROUGH THE PORTAL OR APP WILL HAVE THE FEES WAIVED.

Able to haul your brush and limbs yourself? The Citizen Convenience Center has extended hours:

➡️ Saturday: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
➡️ Sunday: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
➡️ Monday: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Yes, Monday too! The Center is normally closed Mondays.)

With the significant amount of storm debris across Bloomington, curbside collection may take longer than usual. We appreciate your patience as crews work through the increased volume while continuing cleanup efforts across the city.

Regular bulk collection and Citizen Convenience Center guidelines still apply.
