Sally Baird, Realtor

Sally Baird, Realtor Personal Service, Exceptional Results Born in Ohio, Sally Baird was raised in Fishers, IN, north of Indianapolis.

She recalls with pride her first job as a teenager in a real estate office. There, Sally was introduced to the intricacies of real estate, observing and learning from the firm’s top real estate professionals. Little did she know that years later she would rank among the most respected REALTORS® in the greater Bloomington area. A licensed REALTOR® since 2002, Sally is a proud graduate of Indiana Un

iversity, where she completed an undergraduate degree in education – a fitting background, she believes, for the instructive work she often does with first-time homebuyers. Prior to joining Sterling Real Estate in 2019, Sally owned her own real estate business for 10 years, specializing in residential real estate. She is passionate about offering the highest level of service to buyers and sellers. Her natural curiosity drives her to listen and learn about her clients’ real estate challenges. Sally is empathetic and dependable and is admired most for her integrity as a confidante and advocate for her clients. An active professional, Sally is a graduate of the Indiana REALTOR® Leadership Academy, a member of the Network of Independent Brokers, and the Bloomington Board of REALTORS® leadership. She currently serves as the President of the Bloomington Board of REALTORS®. She also is actively involved with the Community Giving and Orientation Committees and serves on the Indiana State Forms committee. Sally was chosen by the Bloomington Board of REALTORS® as the 2020 REALTOR® of the Year. More than 450 REALTOR® members serving Monroe, Owen, and Greene Counties celebrate the accomplishments of one of their own each year who personifies the best qualities in a real estate professional. Sally lives in Bloomington with her husband Joseph, a faculty member with Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and their four children. When she’s not working – or volunteering at her children’s school, her church as a youth Sunday school teacher, or as an advocate with the Monroe County Chapter of CASA – she’s exploring family-fun activities like movie night or games, baking, or cooking. If there’s any extra time in her busy schedule, you’ll find her reading any of the two or three books she has on her nightstand.

Hello! I am so excited to share that I’ll be teaching a homebuyer workshop on Thursday, 1/27 at 6:30 p.m. I used to give these workshops regularly but it’s been several years and I am excited to get back into it! I’m hoping to do several this winter/early spring and will vary the times I offer the class so as to reach the most people possible. In an effort to keep us all safe and healthy, the workshops will be limited to 10 people so we can spread out in my office.

Anyone is invited to attend but it will be especially focused on first-time home buyers and/or buyers who haven’t purchased in many years. This is a no strings attached offering! I LOVE teaching. It’s one of my favorite parts of my job.

If you’re interested in learning about the process in a super low pressure, highly informative way, please email me at [email protected] to reserve a spot! If 1/27 doesn’t work for you, but you’re interested in attending another workshop, definitely let me know!

Feel free to share this! Anyone is welcome.

If you plan on listing your house between fall of 2021 and spring of 2022, you might consider having exterior photos taken now. Spring is prime time for listing but often the grass isn't yet green, the trees haven't filled in and the flowers haven't bloomed! Not to mention the occasional spring snowfall that messes with spring photos! I work with some amazing professional photographers and videographers and can get you all set for a spring listing if you think that would be helpful!

Want to hear something crazy? The Indiana Association of Realtors just released their market stats and numbers are insane! Here are the year over year (2020-2021) stats for Monroe County:

Average sale price increased 13.8%
Median sale price increased 12.8%
Inventory of homes for sale is down 31.8%

Here's the craziest one-for the first time in the history of our association, the percent of original list price received is over 100% @ 100.9. 🤪🤯😳

Look at how cute this Woolery Mill townhouse is! Owners have done many updates including laminate flooring on main level, updated bathrooms, fresh paint and new HVAC in 2020! This is an end unit so there’s extra light and less neighbor noise. It’s also in a unique spot in that it’s right on the edge of a big patch of green space. If you’re looking for super low maintenance living (i.e. no lawn care or snow removal or exterior maintenance) in a great location, this is a good option! Showings start Friday morning.

The new hospital is scheduled to be complete fall of 2021. This new listing is less than 2 miles from the hospital! It's only .6 miles to University Elementary. Awesome eastside location close to everything! Beautiful (just refinished) hardwood floors throughout the main floor. Fresh paint on main floor and basement. New HVAC in 2018. Full limestone exterior! The basement has SO much potential. It isn't finished but there are multiple egress windows and many rooms are already partitioned. There's enough room to get two additional bedrooms, an office and a playroom/family room down there. Plus storage! I'd love to see what someone can do with the basement. Showings start today!

As an aside-this house has been owned by the same family for 53 years. Raised all their kids here. That makes me love the house even more.
