A little about me.

Hi friends,
Had some health issues since the beginning of this year.
I had a life saving surgery after I was life flighted in a helicopter to a surgical center where specialized surgeons operate on only serious patients.
I have a ruptured Esophagus, I was told most don’t survive.
One Surgeon walked out and said to my husband of 40 years, I want to be honest with you, we don’t know if she will make it through this.
I have been struggling for the past 10 months, been hospitalizeds here and Mayo’s 2 times and return and return to Mayo’s in December for another procedure.
With full time care and trying to grow stronger and prayers I am seeing improvement.
Thank you Lord for being with me and continuing to bless me.
Hope you are all doing well.

Love the old and inspiring words of these men.

Walt Whitman (1819–1892) was one of America’s most influential poets and a defining voice of nineteenth century literature. Born in West Hills, New York, he worked as a printer, journalist, teacher and editor before devoting himself to poetry. His revolutionary collection Leaves of Grass, first published in 1855, broke away from traditional poetic forms and celebrated individuality, nature, the human body, love, freedom and the shared experience of ordinary people.

Whitman’s poetry was deeply personal yet universal. He believed that poetry could connect the individual soul with humanity and the natural world. During the American Civil War, he served as a volunteer nurse in military hospitals, an experience that profoundly influenced his later writing.

Often called the father of free verse in America, Whitman influenced generations of poets and writers around the world. His work continues to be remembered for its openness, compassion and celebration of human consciousness.
