Well, this all sounded like good news until I got to the end. It’s really sad when politics gets in the way of housing. Well, both issues might be important, they aren’t related and it just seems like one has nothing to do with the other. I don’t understand how this can happen. Realtors worked so hard on this bill to do everything we could to see more availability in housing which would then reduce housing costs. It seems like all that work might get us nowhere.

Earlier this week, the U.S. House voted 358-32 in favor of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act — a bill expected to lower costs for homebuyers and limit investors' buying power in the single-family market.

The Act is the result of bipartisan cooperation within Congress. It would remove regulatory barriers to enable more housing construction and cap investors' ownership of single-family properties at 350 units.

After months of debate, the bill advanced out of the Senate earlier this week by a vote of 85-5.

The Act had been scheduled for signing on June 24th. However, President Trump has indicated he will withhold his signature until Congress also passes the SAVE Act, which would require voters to provide proof of citizenship and photo ID to vote. The two bills are now linked in ongoing negotiations.1

Know anyone who would like to sell 10 to 15 acres, or even more, that lays well, not steep hillsides, a good place to build a home or renovate an existing home? I've been searching for a good property for this buyer for a while now and just can't find it.

They would even purchase a much larger parcel to get the acreage they want and sell the rest in multiple parcels if you have something that would work for them. They do prefer to avoid Monroe County since the planning dept is so difficult. Really like Eastern Greene County or Eastern Owen County, North Lawrence could work as well.

Please help me find it!
