Good Human Alert! 🎂 Baking blessing cakes for those who need a sweet pick-me-up.
Bristol woman, Andrea Stallard, is sharing her baking talents by generously offering to bake cakes for those who could simply use one.
“Not just birthday cakes, but happy cakes for any reason!” said Andrea. 💗
The response has been overwhelming!
“I had no idea it would be like this!” Andrea told me. “I'm already fully scheduled through July 7th. I wish I had the time and resources to bake every single person a cake who asked for one. I hate telling people no.”

So who is this baking hero of Bristol?? This is what Andrea shared with me:
I work full time as a customer service representative. I have three amazing granddaughters who are the absolute loves of my life. My two sons and their significant others are pretty cool, too, but there's nothing in the world better than grandkids.
I'm trying to do 4 cakes a week on my free day off. There's no requirement, and they are for anyone who just needs a good homemade cake in their life.
Honestly, the reason I started baking these cakes is because I'm off on Sundays and Mondays. Sundays, all my kids and grands are over for Sunday dinner, and I love it, but Mondays, I'm alone, and it's quiet and lonely and depressing. Baking makes me happy. I used to bake bread and things for home, but we just didn't eat it fast enough, so a lot of it went to waste. That made the depression worse because I was wasting a lot of time, money, and energy on food that was getting thrown away.
This past Saturday, I was baking my granddaughter's birthday cake and thinking back on how I wished I knew how to bake like this when my boys were little so I could have given them better birthday cakes. And the idea came to me. I see all kinds of posts about the blessing boxes and Michael Atkins giving food every night, but no one ever gives away cakes!
