Funny moment of the day: my outfit matched the carpet pattern so perfectly, I basically became part of the convention center décor. 😂 Anyone else had a "blend into the background" fashion fail?

🏡 THROWBACK THURSDAY: Remember the Mall at Shelter Cove?

If you’ve been coming to Hilton Head for a while, you probably remember when today’s Shelter Cove Towne Centre looked VERY different!

The Mall at Shelter Cove opened in 1988 as an enclosed shopping mall. Over the years, it was home to stores like Belk, Jordan Marsh, JCPenney, Saks Fifth Avenue and many others.

Fast forward to 2013, and the old mall began its transformation into the open-air Shelter Cove Towne Centre we know today.

What a transformation! 🌴

Today, instead of walking through an enclosed mall, you can shop, grab dinner, enjoy live music and community events, walk along Broad Creek, or simply sit and watch one of those beautiful Hilton Head sunsets.

It’s a great example of how Hilton Head continues to evolve while holding onto the lifestyle that makes this island so special.

Who remembers shopping at the old Mall at Shelter Cove? What store do you remember most?

Most of us are familiar with the Neptune Statue which greets visitors at the main pedestrian entrance to the harbour area. The iconic feature of Shelter Cove is a must-see while visiting the island and was recently rededicated on its 30th birthday.

🎶 The Friday night question on Hilton Head Island… “Where should we go for live music?” 🌴

Every Friday, Tim and I start throwing out the possibilities… Scott’s Fish Market? The Dunes House? Fishcamp? Quarterdeck? Tiki Hut? ELA’S? San Miguel’s? Black Marlin? Chophouse? Reilley’s? Coast? Benny’s Coastal Kitchen? Salty Dog? Local Legend? Skull Creek Boathouse? Old Oyster Factory?
Just to name a few.

Last night, Quarterdeck won, followed by a stop at Scott’s Fish Market—a pretty great way to spend a Friday night on Hilton Head! 🎸🍹🌅

That’s one of the things I love most about living here. There’s always somewhere to go, great food to enjoy, live music to hear, and often a beautiful sunset thrown in for good measure.

Sometimes the hardest part of Friday night is simply deciding where to go!

It’s more than a place to live—it’s the Hilton Head lifestyle. 💙🌴
