Woodland Realty is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our broker, mentor and friend, Susan Moody. Susan passed away on the morning of June 17th, 2026. Susan will be remembered by many as a legend in the north Georgia real estate industry. She was a licensed REALTOR since 1978, over 48 years and was one of the last remaining 5 digit license holders. Susan was a Life Member of the Northeast Georgia Board of Realtors and a recipient of the Golden Phoenix Award, signifying over 25 years of excellence. Susan Moody, along with her late husband Henry, were responsible for the development of multiple communities including the Coosawattee River Resort and Talking Rock Creek Resort. It’s no exaggeration to say that Susan was the go-to person if anyone had a question about real estate in north Georgia. She had a wealth of knowledge, the memory of an elephant and a story for almost every road, lot and soil test in Gilmer county.
Susan was more than a REALTOR, she was an avid animal and horse lover. She spent every morning and evening at the farm on Rock Creek Road taking care of her Gypsy horses. Her horses were her babies, working the farm kept her young and filled with purpose.
Susan will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
