So grateful for all the women who have joined with us to make a sizable impact in our community while making new friends, learning about worthy nonprofit organizations serving our area, and having some fun and laughs along the way.

🌿We had a ball last night! Congratulations to Island Rec's Challenge Camp as the worthy recipient. We had 3 great organizations to choose from. All were worthy of a win and we hope the folks that presented will do so again at our July meeting.

❤️Island Rec’s Challenge (Adaptive) Camp is a specialized summer program on Hilton Head Island designed to support children with disabilities, offering them a fun, inclusive, and enriching camp experience. This 7-week program serves children ages 5–12, pairing each camper one-on-one or one-on-two with trained staff members. Campers are integrated into Island Rec’s broader summer day camp, participating in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, swimming, gym games, music, dance, and weekly field trips .

The program focuses on enhancing campers’ social, cognitive, and motor skills in a supportive environment. By the end of the summer, many participants show noticeable growth in confidence, communication, and independence. The camp operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Island Recreation Center on Wilborn Road Hilton Head Island Recreation Association

Challenge Camp plays a vital role in the Hilton Head Island community by providing accessible recreation for children with special needs, fostering inclusion, and offering families a trusted, engaging option for summer care. The program is made possible through the support of generous donors like the Children’s Relief Fund .

Bringing Light to Women’s Lives: Brillo de Mujer Home

The night’s biggest spotlight was on Brillo de Mujer Home—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering ALL women in the Lowcountry. Their mission is simple but incredibly powerful: helping women overcome barriers and build better lives for themselves and their families.

Many of the women Brillo de Mujer Home serves are facing challenges like language barriers, financial struggles, domestic violence, and limited access to healthcare and legal aid. This organization steps in to provide mentorship, job training, legal assistance, mental health resources, and educational programs—all designed to create long-term independence and confidence.

We were honored to support Brillo de Mujer Home because they’re not just offering quick fixes; they’re changing lives in a lasting way. By giving women the tools they need to thrive, they’re uplifting families and strengthening our entire community.
