Big news!

BIG NEWS FOR BLUFFTON HOMEOWNERS!

The City of Bluffton is excited to announce that we have been awarded $350,000 through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program!

This funding will help provide financial assistance to eligible Bluffton homeowners for critical home repairs and improvements that support safe, healthy, and quality housing.

This grant is especially meaningful because we didn't give up. The City applied for this funding twice before and was not selected. Mayor Scott Mentzer continued to pursue the opportunity because he knew there were Bluffton homeowners who could benefit from this assistance.

We are incredibly grateful to Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith, Fred Glynn, Executive Director of OCRA, and Lindsey Hammond, OCRA Northeast Community Liaison, for their support throughout this process.

We also want to thank the Wells County Foundation, Harrison Township, and Lancaster Township for their financial support and investment in this project. These partnerships are what make community projects like this possible. We also are thankful for Region3A for their support as well!

The total project represents an anticipated $447,000 investment in Bluffton homeowners, including approximately $97,000 in local matching funds.

More information about eligibility, applications, and the next steps will be shared as the program moves forward.

This is a great day for Bluffton — and a great example of what can happen when we keep pursuing opportunities and work together as a community. 💙
