omfortably sleep up to 10 people, and reservations must be made for a minimum of seven days. When you cross over the swing bridge and enter into Boca Grande, it will feel as if you have entered an exclusive resort. You can head into town for a pastry at The Gasparilla Inn Café before heading down to the old lighthouse on south beach. Enjoy a delicious seafood dinner at Miller’s Dockside as you watch the boats pass by the Marina. After a day at the beach you can even grab an ice cream at the Dolphin Cove Café and discover your new favorite flavor. One thing you will quickly discover in Boca Grande is that no matter where you go you will be greeted with smiling faces and pleasantries as if you were longtime friends. Boca Grande is truly a hidden gem that provides the perfect escape into old Florida. The Gardner Beach House is located on the north side of Boca Grande Island just a short walk out your back door to the tranquil beach. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off when you come back from the sandy shoreline, and a patio area to sit and enjoy dinner while watching the sunset. The downstairs boasts an open floor plan connecting the living room, dining room and the kitchen. Cabinets are fully stocked with dishes, cookware and appliances that you will need. There is a single bedroom with a queen bed and neighboring bathroom. Upstairs you will find the spacious master suite with a king sized bed and views overlooking the gulf, as well as a second bedroom with twin beds and an en suite bathroom. Additional amenities include a golf cart (available for rental), cable television, secure wireless internet, beach supplies and a washer and dryer for your convenience. Fill the holes!
As you can see, nesting sea turtles and their hatchlings (as well as shorebird chicks) can get trapped by falling into holes at the beach. But you can help by filling in empty holes… even if you didn’t make them. Umbrella holes, sandcastle moats and big sand pits gotta go. See a hole? Fill it. Sea turtles and shorebirds thank you. It was all hands on deck to fill up this huge hole and trench found on the beach this morning. Holes like this one trap sea turtles and their hatchlings!! It is currently peak nesting season, if a nesting turtle or hatchling, were to get trapped in a hole they could die from dehydration, stress, or fatigue from trying to escape. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, FILL UP ALL HOLES! Filling up holes like this takes up valuable time and takes several volunteers away from important turtle conservation work. Thank you 🐢❤️
