Throughout twenty years of being a resident in Boca Grande, FL, Rich Taylor has continued to serve and support the community and the local organizations. One of Rich’s largest contributions to the Boca Grande community was leading and assisting as a community board member. As one of the founding board members of the Island School, located in Boca Grande, FL, he and fellow board members proactively

sought out community favor and worked with the county commissioners to gain Lee County’s approval for the Island School’s lease continuance at the Boca Grande Community Center. Since the county’s approval, the Island School was constructed on the BGCC premises and has continued to thrive over the years. One of Rich’s latest projects involved representing the Coral Creek Airport. He has actively worked to promote the facility in Boca Grande and increase the membership of the airport. His contributions to Boca Grande have coincided with his career in Boca Grande real estate. Rich’s career began with a sales position in 1995 with Gulf to Bay properties. With his drive to succeed and to give his family the opportunity to live on the island, Rich built a strong reputation with integrity and warm relations with clients. His clients became his neighbors and his friends.In 2003 he purchased the company and formed a partnership. Rich wanted to brand the company and researched the possibility of working with Sotheby’s. In 2005, Gulf to Bay Properties became Gulf to Bay Sotheby’s International Realty and was one of the first companies to be given the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious brand. Sotheby’s International Realty has grown immensely since 2005 and is now located in 44 countries with 660 offices.Rich felt it was important to affiliate with Sotheby’s; as being part of such a recognized brand is important for people visiting Boca Grande, customers know they will experience a high level of service that is synonymous with
the Sotheby’s name. The brand has opened many doors and helped to solidify our company position in the Boca Grande marketplace. Rich has years of experience working on complex real estate transactions many of them being estate properties in Boca Grande that required his finesse and his ability to communicate to streamline the process toward the successful sale. Prior to Rich’s career in real estate in Boca Grande, he was the owner of Taylor Art Galleries in the 1980s and Lifetime Fitness Equipment in the 1990s. His business philosophy has always remained the same, surround yourself with good people that care and great things will happen. Boca Grande is a special place with a caring community; perfect to have raised his three daughters, Sara, Brittany and Rachael. Boca Grande is a very safe place for young families. Rich jokingly remarks, “Having raised three daughters on this island was great! It was the next best thing to having a moat and a drawbridge.” Rich loves Boca Grande and its people, his philosophy is founded in a strong belief that you need to give and to help others.
