If you are considering buying a waterfront home, the seawall is one of your most valuable assets. Find out BEFORE you buy: what is the maintenance required, does it need replacing, can I build a dock, can I have a boat lift? Every location has specific laws and regulations and multiple agencies to approve any permits. Never assume you can do what you want - verify you actually can. Oh and, most permitting will take 1-2 years before construction can begin.
