Options for property owners facing loan maturities. Work with your lender to restructure your debt, increase the equity in the property or sell the property. All of the aforementioned are better than the alternative of being foreclosed on.

For multifamily, the wall of maturities will be scary as Halloween, and about at the same time.

Uncertainty in the economy is keeping equity investors in commercial real estate on the sidelines for the moment. Many have pivoted to being providers of debt. The good news is there is still an abundance of capital waiting for a clearer picture of where interest rates and the overall economy is headed.

Some of the bigger players are still making deals. But the majority are waiting for market dislocation to work itself out so they can take advantage of the resulting bargains.
