A waterfront spec house in Boca Raton, Fla., has sold for a record $75 million. The property is breaking its own record, set when the developers bought the 0.81-acre parcel in the exclusive Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club for $36 million in 2024.⁠

The sellers were real-estate developers Scott and Steve Di**le of SRD Building Corp. After razing an older home, they built the new home and listed it for $80 million on May 1, according to Zillow. It went into contract within a day, & there were multiple bids!

The house is roughly 18,300 square feet with eight bedrooms, a pool and a dock, according to the listing. There is a club room with a roughly 163-inch television and a built-in bar, as well as a game room with a golf simulator. A “tricked out” wellness wing has a gym, hot tub, cold plunge and massage room, said Scott Di**le, who declined to say how much it cost to build the home.⁠

So—I’ve “seen/experienced” a lot of “fashion” in my lifetime: some quite exquisite, mostly bad….

During my decade living in Manhattan, I dated a serious fashion designer; I properly went to the Met Gala (in the mid ‘90s when it was still cool); I represented artists; I hung out/socialized with many seriously creative people who are “names” (some brands!) today, BUT I have never experienced such an extensive and profound fashion exhibit like the one I saw today in Miami for .

I was honestly never one for “the Italians” (Armani excluded because it was deemed “safe” & more wearable in my PR industry at the time), but I never really knew what Domenico & Stefano were really up to…maybe it just went over my head…? Most probably their brand was overshadowed by the zeitgeist of all things Versace? But boy: I missed out!!! These boys are the absolute BOMB.🔥

And to top it all off, I got to hand with my friend …& eat a sumptuous Greek luncheon Michelin-starred

New York City is planning to tax pieds-à-terre worth $5 million or more. Rhode Island’s “Taylor Swift tax” will hit homes valued at over $1 million that are uninhabited for at least 183 days of the year. Nicknamed after the pop star who owns a waterfront mansion in Westerly, R.I., the measure is set to take effect in July.⁠

Meanwhile, courts are weighing proposals in Montana and San Francisco for extra levies on vacant homes.⁠

These taxes are generating furious debate. Supporters say they would help improve housing affordability by encouraging owners of second homes to turn them into long-term rentals rather than let them sit vacant.⁠

In 2022, Tom Ford bought a modern Palm Beach mansion for $51 million. One year later, he swapped it for something far more interesting.

Casa della Porta del Paradiso was completed in 1929 by Swiss architect Maurice Fatio, the man whose clients included Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, and Huttons. Fatio himself called it the greatest house he had ever done. Local agents valued it at $100 million at the time of the swap. Tom Ford did not hesitate.

The 23,526 sq ft Mediterranean masterpiece sits in the exclusive Estate Section of Palm Beach, with a hand-carved stone archway, quarry coral brick exterior, medieval-era oak doors, ornate coffered ceilings, pickled oak paneling, and a central courtyard where purple bougainvillea climbs the arches.

It was landmarked in 1990. It has outlasted every trend. And now it belongs to the one person whose aesthetic sensibility was arguably always its destiny.
