West Sonoma County history. Geen Valley cemetery in Sebastopol has many broken gravestones. These gravestones are from the 19th century. During the 1908 eartquake in San Francisco, a fault line was disturbed out in the Pacific. The quake came in through Green Valley Rd. It split many the gravestones in half. The quake continued on eastward and destroyed the town of Santa Rosa. From my Massachusetts birth to my life in Sonoma County, I have enjoyed the history that has encompassed my life.
