The Cromer House 🏡

In 1967, George and Carolyn Cromer built this house and made it their home. It was here that they raised their two children, Greg and Lori, built a lifetime of memories, and spent 56 years together within these walls.

When Blackstone Property Co. had the opportunity to purchase the home from Greg and Lori, we knew this was more than just another renovation. Our goal was to honor its history while giving it new life for another family to call home for years to come.

Before ➡️ After!

Another piece of downtown getting a fresh start! It’s amazing what a little paint can do. These old buildings have so much character and history, and our goal is to bring that charm back while giving them a clean, updated look that will last for years to come.

There’s still more work to be done, but seeing the transformation already makes it worth it. We’re proud to keep investing in Bogalusa, one property at a time, and doing our small part to make our downtown something we can all be proud of again.

As we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday and Bogalusa’s 112th Birthday, we wanted to do a small part to help showcase the pride we have in our community and our country. We were honored to donate the American flags that now line our downtown street and have the “Happy 4th of July – Bogalusa, Louisiana” banner made for everyone to enjoy.

Bogalusa has always been a city built on patriotism, hard work, and community spirit. We are proud of our hometown, proud of our nation, and grateful for every opportunity to give back to the city we love. We hope these decorations help make this Independence Day celebration even more special as we honor our country’s 250-year history and celebrate 112 years of the City of Bogalusa. God bless America, and God bless Bogalusa! 🇺🇸

P.S.
We originally planned to have the banner stretched across the street, but the winds were stronger than expected and we weren’t able to find two parallel anchor points that we felt would hold it safely and securely. Safety always comes first, so we made the decision to relocate it for this year. We’re already working on a better solution and look forward to having it hanging across the street for everyone to enjoy next year!

What a transformation! This home has been completely brought back to life from top to bottom while still keeping its original character and charm. From the fresh exterior colors and restored front porch to the updated landscaping and beautiful brick walkway, every detail was carefully designed to make this house feel welcoming again. Seeing the before and after side by side really shows the amount of work, vision, and pride that went into this renovation.

Inside and out, this renovation was about more than just improving a house — it was about investing back into the neighborhood and preserving a piece of the community. Projects like this help bring new energy to our streets while creating a beautiful place for someone to call home for years to come. First, I would like to thank our community partners who helped bring this vision to life. A special thank you to Christopher Hall with “Mow Pro” for clearing the grass from the mural and addressing the surrounding overgrowth, and to Pritchard Electric, LLC for generously partnering with us to share the cost of restoring this beautiful mural to its former glory.
