I am hardly the first person to ever put on a pair of boots and go to work. These boots are special though. They thought me that I can do (extremely) hard things. I often got comments like, “you don’t look like you should be on a job site” or “man, construction sure has changed”, & they were correct, I don’t/didn’t fit the mold of a construction worker and I definitely looked different than everybody on a job site, but I wanted to be there and I wanted to learn all that I could. These boots are so much more than what they appear, they come with literal blood, sweat, & tears, late nights, early mornings, worry, happiness, & sadness, but most importantly, determination to succeed. Tydus would ask me if I wanted new boots and I’d just shake my head and tell him no and that these still had a lot of life left. I never really looked at them before, worn down to the screw heads, ripped & worn uppers, minimal tread, overall just in rough shape. I guess when you have work to do you look past any distractions and keep your focus on what really counts. I’m so excited to put this determination and focus into my real estate career! Do you have any items that may look typical to the rest of the world but they are a priceless reminder of hard work to you? I’d love to hear about them in the comments below!
