Don’t skip one of the most important inspections you’ll ever have. These problems are wayyyy easier to solve when the house is in the framing stages. No having to rip off walls or siding to make repairs. Your builder will push back on this inspection but you absolutely must INSIST.

A pre-drywall inspection gives you the opportunity to identify framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural issues before the drywall covers everything up. Once the walls are closed, many defects become much harder and more expensive to correct.

If you’re building a new home in Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, Star, Nampa, Caldwell, or anywhere in the Treasure Valley, this is one inspection you do not want to miss.

At Peek Inspections, we help homebuyers catch problems before they become costly surprises.

📍Serving Boise and the entire Treasure Valley.

✨✨Inspection Ready✨✨
Doing a new construction inspection for a national builder. Before even inspecting this kitchen I found a loose wire in the electrical panel, like always, as well as a gas leak at the meter. Granted this is the same builder that tells us we cannot take off electrical panels or walk a roof. They act like home inspectors are the liability 😂 Boise, Idaho! If you're getting a brand new house you need to get an inspection! My team at Peek Inspections has done more new construction home inspections in the Treasure Valley than anyone else in the last five years. We are here to advocate for the client to make sure they are not getting taken advantage of by the builder. Trust the builder but verify the process!

I only ran the sink for 10 seconds before I found this. This was the third leak I found that inspection too. Boise!! Idaho!! Treasure Valley!! These things are going up QUICK, please get an inspection. This house was also missing ceiling insulation and had loose wires... we gotta do better!

Just for the record, shooting some nails into a truss split in half is not a repair. Here's what it actually does: it puts the people paying for your labor and skill in a bad position, it puts the builder that hired you on a bad position, and it's a sign of poor character and failed integrity.

The builder is the one who looks bad when this happens but it's not really their fault.

The client loses trust in the builder. If this isn't found then this can put a financial burden on the client when they go to sell the house if another inspector calls it out.

Boise is growing fast. Idaho is growing fast. Living in the Treasure Valley should be a positive experience; not something that leaves the people wondering if "we are building too fast".

Have some pride in your work, don't take shortcuts, and hire Peek Inspections to double check your new home. A home inspection is a very important part of buying a new construction home, so don't skip it!

If you have an extra $700k laying around you can also purchase a brand new construction home with loose wires and gas leaks! We have a national builder here in the Treasure Valley of Idaho that is telling Home Inspectors they can no longer takeoff electrical panel covers. I've found over a dozen loose wires in this specific neighborhood and that's their version of accountability?? Instead of dealing with the potential of burning your clients house down you just tell Home Inspectors they can no longer inspect panels. SHADY

I've had a lot of companies send me stuff or offer to send me stuff and I've rarely done videos about it. One thing about ya boy though, I love some good socks. Camel City Mill Work Socks sent me these and then I personally purchased some myself after trying them. Just wanted to share with my folks that are working out in the field or even going on hikes. These have been awesome!

I get so many questions about this inspection and I'm happy to see this is starting to become the normal here in Boise and the Treasure Valley. Idaho is still a very new place compared to several other areas of the country and construction is growing all the time.

This inspection is the most important one you can get! Once the drywall, insulation, siding, and shingles go on everything will be concealed. I commonly find mold, structural damage, and sloppy work that can lead to major or minor issues once the house is completed.

If you're having a house built, here's a list of what you should be checking for at your microwave.

If you're in Boise, Idaho, or anywhere in the Treasure Valley, just give us a shout and we'd be happy to do all the inspecting for you!

These shower and tub inserts get put in your house during the framing process. That leaves a lot of time for them to get damaged. Contractors are constantly standing in there, dropping tools, working on them like they are a platform and they are typically unprotected. Keep a close eye if you're having a house built!

After thousands of Inspections I still find something I've never found before. Most systems in your house are pretty easy to diagnose with just a basic process of elimination. I know we make new construction look like it's terrible, but the best part is the builder should repair everything. unfortunately somehow we still keep finding lots of loose electrical connections on these properties.
