I thought it was just a bug bite.

A few days later, a red streak was running from my wrist toward my armpit, my lymph node became extremely painful, and I ended up in the ER receiving IV antibiotics.

The likely culprit? A Black Widow spider.

Three mistakes people make in Idaho:

1. Not spraying around their home for spiders and insects

2. Not checking garages, sheds, wood piles, and outdoor furniture

3. Assuming it’s “just a bug bite”

About 10 days of intense discomfort.
