HB 583 is now headed to the Idaho Senate for a full floor vote.
This bill protects fair treatment for short-term rental owners and reinforces consistent property-rights standards across Idaho. It clarifies that homes used as short-term rentals are residential uses and should not be singled out simply because of length of stay.
Cities can still enforce safety, occupancy, noise, and nuisance rules. HB 583 simply ensures equal treatment under Idaho law.
