Hosting this season? A few quick home checks now can help you avoid surprises when guests arrive. 🍂🏡
Before the house fills up, take a little time to check:
1. Your entryway🚪
Check railings, handles and locks, replace worn weatherstripping, and make sure everything your guests will encounter first is working properly.
2. Your kitchen appliances🍳
Test your oven and burners, check refrigerator and freezer temperatures, and give your dishwasher a quick once-over before the holiday cooking begins.
3. Your plumbing🚽
Look for leaks, check exposed pipes, make sure guest sinks and toilets are working properly, and know where your main water shutoff is—just in case.
4. Your electrical panel💡
Pay attention to breakers that repeatedly trip or anything that looks or smells unusual. Electrical concerns are one of those things best addressed before a houseful of guests arrives.
A little preparation can go a long way toward making the season easier—and keeping your focus on the people you’re welcoming into your home.
