On a personal note.....before falling in love with Boise & settling down, Sheila had been an avid traveler, learned to speak fluent Spanish amidst tours from Mexico to Central & South America, including volunteering in a Guatemalan scholastics program for children in need. She also lived remote on Baronof Island in Alaska for several years (no roads, electricity, or internet, & a population that you can count on your fingers) at a NOAA research facility. Before her explorations of the Americas, she received an extended BA in International Affairs, with dual minors in Spanish & classical guitar performance at Northern Arizona University where she graduated with honors.
