Serving in the military is more than a duty; it’s a calling that not everyone can understand or feel. Words often fall short of capturing the depth of sacrifice that the men and women who serve make. From the very first day, they are tested to their core—physically, mentally, and emotionally. They leave behind their homes, families, and the life they know, not knowing if they will ever return or hold their loved ones again. If they are fortunate, they might reunite with family and adjust together in unfamiliar places. But there are also those who face this journey alone—and those who never make it back.

My heart goes out to everyone who has endured the pain of losing someone they love to service. It’s a weight that never truly lifts. I am proud of my nephew who gave his all and never returned home, and I am deeply grateful for the experience I had as a military wife. To all the Veterans, thank you—for your courage, your resilience, and your unwavering service. You are honored and remembered always.
