Did you know the word at the end of your address isn’t random? 🤔
That “Court,” “Drive,” or “Boulevard” was supposed to describe the road itself:
🛣️ Court — usually a short dead-end, often a cul-de-sac

🌙 Crescent — a curved road

🌳 Boulevard — a wide street with greenery in the median and along the sides

➡️ Avenue — typically a straighter, more formal street (direction depends on the city)

🏞️ Drive — often winds with the landscape: parks, hills, lakes

🔄 Circle — a road that loops back on itself

🏡 Place — a short street, often a cul-de-sac

They’re guidelines, not laws. Cities write their own rules, and builders sometimes pick the name because it sounds nice. Still fun to decode your own address.

A competitive offer feels urgent. Skipping the inspection to look stronger is how buyers inherit roof, foundation, electrical, or plumbing problems they never priced in. A few hundred dollars now can save tens of thousands later.

Randy's Tip of the Week: walk the neighborhood at night before you offer.

Daytime showings hide a lot. After dark you notice street lighting, parking overflow, traffic noise, who is still out, and how the block actually feels when you would be coming home from work or putting kids to bed.

Ten minutes after dinner can tell you more than another polished midday tour. If something feels off at night, trust that. You are not just buying a house. You are buying how that street lives after sunset.

September is the best window in the Treasure Valley to get your home ready for winter. Doing this work now protects pipes, the roof, and your heating system before the first freeze, and it is a lot cheaper than an emergency repair in January.
