The house was blessed by Rev Robert Morrison of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in June of 1981. It was a fantastic day for a house blessing and picnic with so many families and friends. It sounds so funny to say but 4 generations of Jones' lived in the house at the time. Now I can report 5 generations of our family have resided at Buford Pond at one time or another. So many wonderful memories to hold yet so many more for the lucky family who is fortunate enough to call the house HOME.

Finally getting the frog pond clip up! It took most of the weekend to get it cleaned and ready for summer frogs. They were so happy Saturday night, there was a chorus of LOUD frogs calling each other for hours! The results, tons of new eggs. The little froglet in the clip had just lost his tail and was trying out his lungs. The little guy was smaller than my pinky nail. He was so cute!! Here's to another season of enjoyment watching the frog pond come to life!

Dining Rooms are on the way BACK!!! Nancy Meyers aesthetic enthusiasts rejoice!!! We have enjoyed hosting family celebrations and holidays over the years. This was a recent Thanksgiving dinner that we kept casual. Whether or not you enjoy serving intimate family dinners or large formal parties, this space can handle it all! Not to mention the fantastic Butler's Pantry that can hold EVERYTHING you need to do either. We did remove the artist mural that is pictured. It's packed and ready to have installed at our next destination! How would you see your family using the dining room? Please share......

Most people don't know this, but my studio is located in the original kitchen of the house. The 220 outlet is still there in addition to the space for a refrigerator. I actually used it for a summer kitchen for years. With intention, it remains almost completely original. The cabinets, tile countertop, doors (not windows), light fixture, swinging door, and phone/phone book cubby remain as they were in 1938. When it needed a freshen up and new floor, I honored the integrity by installing a new LVT floor in black and white and painted it turquoise. This room has served me well as a creative space to work but could easily be used as a second kitchen

On April 1, 2016, we brought home 1 day old chicks from Southern States. We wanted to have fully organic, fresh eggs for the family. Of course, not just any flimsy chicken coop would do, so an 8 x 8 chicken house and attached run was constructed in the back yard. We enjoyed more than enough eggs for us and some to share. Believe it or not, our one remaining hen, Demeter just turned 10 and still lays eggs! Her sister, passed in late winter this year but she seems quite content to bask in the warm spring sun and enjoy all the fresh foods she given. Certainly, at her age, every day is a gift. The chicken run may need a little sprucing up, but coop is in great condition. Buford Pond is coop ready for the next family to enjoy natures best!
