If you’re scrolling Zillow, Realtor.com, Homes.com, or any of the other home search sites and see a house you love, be careful before you hit the “Schedule a Tour” or “Contact Agent” button.

Most people assume those requests go directly to the listing agent.

In many cases, they don’t.

Instead, your information is often sent to an agent who has paid for advertising on that platform. They may be a fantastic Realtor, but they may have never stepped foot in the home, spoken with the seller, or know anything beyond what’s already online.

Think about it this way: You wouldn’t choose a surgeon, accountant, or financial advisor based on who happened to buy the ad space next to your search results. Your Realtor deserves the same level of consideration.

Here’s the better plan:

🏡 Find a Realtor you know, like, and trust.
🏡 Send them the address of the home you’re interested in.
🏡 Let them schedule the showing, answer your questions, negotiate on your behalf, and protect your interests throughout the process.

Zillow is great at helping you find houses, but not always great at helping you find a Realtor.

The person guiding you through one of the biggest financial decisions of your life shouldn’t be chosen by an advertising algorithm.

Today this one finally closed… and if you looked at the final paperwork, you’d think it was a pretty normal sale.

It wasn’t.

Technically, we sold this house FOUR times. Four contracts. Four moments of excitement. Four times thinking, *this is it.* And four times… something happened.

This home was originally purchased as an investment property, but life changed and our client was ready to move on. The challenge? Since January of 2024 she had been carrying TWO properties — this one and her personal home — month after month while we continued navigating market changes, buyer issues, bad luck, and every curveball imaginable.

There were moments when it would have been easy to throw our hands up and say, “Maybe this just isn’t meant to happen.”

But this is exactly why having the right agent matters.

Because real estate isn’t just putting a sign in the yard and waiting. The hard part happens when things *don’t* go according to plan. It’s having someone with enough experience to pivot when the market shifts. Someone who advocates for you when deals get messy.
