PSA From us to You...Good Morning, as you know, we are in Hurricane Season. We've already had a few tropical storms, 1 or 2 of which brought us some heavy rains since Junish.

But now a future hurricane is about to be named. Currently, TS Erin is heading on a trajectory that looks like Florida will be landfall. But that's almost a week away. It could easily turn up into the Atlantic and stay there or head towards Georgia and the Carolinas.

If you're in the middle of a real estate transaction, please be aware that this event could postpone your closing if your purchase requires a mortgage because insurance companies typically do not issue new policies with impending storms potentially on the way. As a result, mortgages are not provided unless insurance policies are secured. Do your research. Ask questions. Be in the know.

Regardless, thanks to the National Hurricane Center, we do know that preparedness is key. So please be aware. Use this info as you will. Please stay safe my friends. The images are from the NHC Website.

Hi Folks! Those of you who know me know that I am involved, in different capacities, with our local Scouts BSA youth organization since 2015.

Both of our brother/sister troops...T159G and T314 out of Fort Myers' "The IMAG" (our Charter Organization) are fundraising by selling reserved chairs to the 87th Annual EDISON Festival of Lights event happening this Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Reserve your parade street seats from SCOUTS BSA TROOP 159, our girl-led scout troop and/or SCOUTS BSA TROOP 314, our boy-led scout troop that will set up your seats along the parade route so you can comfortably enjoy the parade.

This annual event is a key team-building activity that helps our Scouts defray the costs of scouting and expensive camping-related gear and events.

So....If you've always wanted to attend or are a repeat attendee to this spectacular event but haven't gotten your seats, this is your chance to reserve your place by purchasing the remaining available seating through both our troops. Good Morning All (Post Milton SWFL)

WORD OF SAFETY ADVICE: If you have access to fb and see this as a friend of mine though you may be without electricity at home, remember to turn off your breakers. I know it sounds counterintuitive as you ask yourself...how am I going to know the power is back on.?

But when there are wide-spread outages and power is restored, you stand a chance of getting your devices damaged upon immediate, potentially unstabilized re-energizing of the electrical system.

I don't think you want to burn out ur ac, fridge, etc. Inadvertently while celebrating the return of electricity. That would be so anti-climactically expensive.

***TO MY ELECTRICIAN FRIENDS OUT THERE*** Please correct me if I am wrong in this safety protocol for power outages. I will graciously heed your guidance if I'm fanning a wive's-tale. This is a safety protocol I always follow just in case.

These are the latest updates from Wink News. Seems like landfall will be around 20:00 or so just North of us. In general, we've had a few tornadoes though I haven't seen them by us. At least it dropped to a CAT 3. I hope it doesn't slow down in track speed.
