🏡 5 Things I Would NOT Do Before Buying a House
If you’re planning to buy a home soon, here are a few things I’d avoid doing until you’ve closed on the house. 👇
1️⃣ I wouldn’t open new credit accounts.
That new furniture card or credit card could affect your credit profile and potentially your mortgage approval.
2️⃣ I wouldn’t make any large purchases.
A new car, boat, furniture, or other big purchase can change your debt-to-income ratio and raise questions during the loan process.
3️⃣ I wouldn’t change jobs without talking to my lender.
A career move may be perfectly fine, but changing your employment situation can sometimes complicate the mortgage process.
4️⃣ I wouldn’t move money around without documenting it.
Large deposits or transfers can require some explaining. Keep your finances as straightforward and well documented as possible.
5️⃣ I wouldn’t make big financial decisions without talking to my lender first.
When you’re under contract, it’s better to ask first than discover later that something you did affected your loan.
Buying a home is exciting, but a little preparation can save you a LOT of stress.

And if you know someone getting ready to buy, share this with them! 🏠🔑
