Before you begin shopping for homes, it's time to meet with a lender to get pre-approved for a home loan. Having a pre-approval letter can give you a leg up in this competitive market by showing sellers that you're a serious buyer with your finances in order. ✅

A lender will look at your finances, employment and credit to determine the loan you may qualify for.

Start by preparing these 5 documents so you're ready to begin the pre-approval process! 👇

✔️ Identification
✔️ Income and employment verification: tax returns, W-2s, 1099s and recent paystubs
✔️ Proof of assets
✔️ Monthly debt statements from loans or lines of credit to determine debt-to-income ratio

✅ Build your credit score

Your credit score can impact your mortgage rate. Check your credit report, pay down debt, pay bills on time and don't open or close credit cards.

✅ Get pre-approved for a mortgage

Before you begin your home search, meet with a lender. A lender will look at your finances, employment and other factors to determine how much you may qualify for.

✅ Create and stick to your budget

Create a monthly budget that you can comfortably afford for the long term, and stick to it during your home search. Your future self will thank you!

Here are 5 ways to boost your home's Summer curb appeal:

✔️ Tidy up your front porch: Clean off debris, wipe down furniture, wash windows, add a new welcome mat

✔️ Clean up landscaping: Mow and edge your lawn, pull any weeds, add a fresh layer of mulch to garden beds

✔️ Pressure wash the exterior: Remove dirt from walkways, porch, patio, fencing and other surfaces that need a refresh

✔️ Plant seasonal flowers: Add a quick pop of color by planting in garden beds, pots or hanging baskets
