Hotel Commonwealth Expansion Underway!

The luxury Boston Hotel Commonwealth has been working on an extensive expansion by adding a new wing to the building that will even exceed their own high standards.

The Hotel Commonwealth extension at 500 Commonwealth Ave in Boston will include almost 100 additional guest rooms, a designated Fenway Park Suite, double the existing amount of meeting space and include a multi-functional outdoor terrace!

All 149 guest rooms have been redesigned by New York design company, Dash Design. These rooms have been redesigned from head to toe to add more of a luxury feel and a modern twist. They’ve started completely fresh by adding new bedding, custom-designed bedside tables and even a Google Nexus tablet that features a virtual concierge app that provides instant access to hotel amenities and services such as room service or dog walking appointments!

The luxury Boston Hotel Commonwealth will include 3 new suites that are all themed to pay tribute to its home, Kenmore Square. The first themed suite is called The Rathskeller Suite, which is designed after “The Rat” a legendary Kenmore Square music club that use to be in place of the Hotel Commonwealth. “A band on tour” is the inspiration behind this suite’s theme. The second suite will be called The Terrier Suite. This theme was inspired by the rich athletic, academic and cultural legacy of Boston University, a neighbor to Hotel Commonwealth. The last themed suite will be called The Loft. This suite will be inspired by the Boston arts neighborhoods like Fort Point Channel, Reimagining the concept of a “Presidential Suite”.

The expansion of the luxury Hotel Commonwealth will extend the existing building over the parking lot in back of the hotel that’s facing Fenway Park. There will be a footbridge built to connect the current Hotel and the new building that will include:

-96 newly built 425 square foot guest rooms
-6,000 square feet of meeting space
-2,000 square foot outdoor terrace
-Fenway Park Suite overlooking the Green Monster
-2 additional suites with walk-out balconies facing Fenway Park

The luxury Boston condo and apartment project Seaport Square was just approved last month totaling $700 million dollars in development. The latest news just dropped this week about potential prices for these luxury condos and apartments. Check it out!

The announcement of a $700 million dollar luxury Boston condo project called Seaport Square was approved to build three luxury towers last month. These towers will consist of luxury condominiums, apartments and retail stores. The building will be made up of 800 condos, 350 apartments and include 800 parking spots.

The development of these luxury buildings are going to be apart of a $3.6 billion Seaport project that has plans to turn Seaport into a neighborhood and community. This development has proposed to span over 20 blocks with retail stores, restaurants and entertainment.

Prices for these luxury condos have been proposed to retail for as much as $1,000 to $2,000 a square foot! This means an apartment with over 666.66 square ft priced at $1,500 a foot will cost you $1 million! These prices may seem steep but for an apartment with this type of view in Boston, expect to pay nothing less.
