This sale was particularly meaningful and time consuming because it was my home. In a matter of 8 days, we had to somehow declutter and stage our place so it wouldn’t look like my two messy boys had been living here for the past 4 years. I want to say a special thanks 🙏to my trusty cleaners, painters and contractor who worked over night and on the weekend to prep the place for the market. My painter said, ‘Don’t worry, Beth- Brazilians work on Sunday. ‘“ Thank goodness they do. They have saved me and my sellers more times than I can count.

A great week away bouncing between the lakes and oceans of Maine ❤️.

This sale was about more than just rent rolls and cap rates.

52 Temple Street had been in the same family for over 40 years and represented a deep bond between a daughter and her father. That emotional connection made it incredibly difficult for my client to sell the building. Temple Street reminded me that, for some people, a building is far more than an investment—it is a family heirloom, a source of pride, and even part of their identity. Her tenants weren’t treated simply as renters, but more like members of an extended family.

At the final walkthrough, the seller wanted to hand over the keys personally and meet the new owner. It was important for her to share her father’s story. She wanted the opportunity to say goodbye to her tenants and to share background on each of them with the buyer as they had become part of the fabric of the building over the years.

It was a meaningful reminder that even amid settling statements, smoke inspections, and closing logistics, real estate can still be deeply personal.
