A major investment is underway at Chicopee Village Townhomes!

WinnCompanies recently acquired the 290-home affordable housing community in Chicopee, Massachusetts, preserving affordability for 50 years and launching a $41.5 million rehabilitation effort.

Over the next two years, residents will see extensive improvements across the property, including renovated apartments, upgraded building systems, energy efficiency enhancements, accessibility upgrades, and improvements to shared community spaces. The project will also create 15 fully accessible apartments and six units designed for residents with hearing or visual impairments.

Residents will be able to remain part of the community throughout the rehabilitation process. This investment helps ensure that families in Chicopee have access to quality, affordable housing for decades to come.

A major milestone for housing preservation.

Last week, WinnCompanies celebrated the completion of Evergreen East, an $86 million preservation and modernization effort that transformed 508 affordable apartment homes while residents remained in place throughout construction.

As the largest occupied rehabilitation in our company's history, the three-year project modernized homes for nearly 2,000 residents, including almost 500 children, expanded accessibility, enhanced sustainability, revitalized resident amenities and community spaces, and secured long-term affordability for decades to come.

Preserving affordable housing means investing in residents, strengthening communities, and ensuring quality housing remains accessible for future generations.
