Back in the pre-covid, full-time salary days, I tried to experience at least one new country and one new state a year. And I did a lot of that via frequent flyer miles and travel credit cards. So, I'm no stranger to credit card perks!
The Chase Sapphire Preferred is my go-to for almost all spending, but I rotate other cards in periodically for the right bonus deal.
And boy is this the right deal! Chase now allows you to hold BOTH the Sapphire Preferred AND Reserve. And right now the reserve is offering 150,000 if you spend $6,000 in the first 90 days. That's the equivalent of $1,500+!
Here's how I hit the minimum spend: Pay for EVERYTHING on the card for 90 days. Make any large upcoming purchases in that timeframe. See if friends or family have purchases you can cover and they can Zelle or Venmo you the total back. When out at dinner with friends, offer to pay and have them pay you back for their share. Buy gift cards from big box or grocery stores for companies you know you will use in the next 6-12 months.
Why this deal matters: Gas is expensive. Food is expensive. Housing is sucking up what used to be disposable income. Because of these, travel is becoming more and more unattainable for the average American.
How the Reserve helps:
- $300 travel credit
- $120 reimbursement for TSA precheck to get you through lines faster
- $200 hotel credit
- Access to airport lounges to keep you cozy and fresh on long travel days
- And so much more!
..and that's on top of the $1,500 worth of bonus miles!
Book Airbnbs through your Delta Airlines portal using this card to double dip on points for stays and experiences. And connect your Lyft and Alaska/Hawaiian Atmos Rewards to double dip on ride shares. 😉
*P**F* Suddenly travel becomes affordable again, and also a bit more extravagant!
