New septic property transfer requirements will add a few important steps to the process, including:

✔️ A septic inspection within 12 months of closing
✔️ Pumping if recommended
✔️ Verification of an as-built record, or a site plan if one isn’t on file
✔️ A new Report of Property Transfer (RPT) submitted to the Health Department
✔️ Buyers receiving the reviewed RPT, septic maintenance records, and required seller disclosure

If you’re selling, it’s a good idea to start early, ideally before listing, so these requirements don’t create unexpected delays.

BELOVED SEATTLE FRIED CHICKEN SPOT BOK A BOK IS CLOSING FOR GOOD 🍗💔

After 10 years in Seattle, Bok a Bok will not be reopening its Capitol Hill location.

The Korean-inspired fried chicken spot first temporarily closed in October 2025 after a burst pipe caused substantial damage to the restaurant.

Fans spent nearly a year hoping it would return — but on August 15, chef Brian O’Connor confirmed that Bok a Bok was officially closing for good.

The restaurant was known for favorites like:

🍗 Sesame soy garlic fried chicken sandwiches
🧀 Kimchi mac and cheese
🍚 Chicken bowls
🌾 Extensive gluten-free options

Capitol Hill was Bok a Bok’s final remaining location after its University District, Kirkland, Burien, and White Center locations closed in 2024.

Now, Seattle is saying goodbye to a local fried chicken favorite.

SEATTLE IS BUILDING ITS OWN MATCHA COUNTRY 🍵🌿

Vale Matcha has announced Vale Farms, a massive 365-acre tea farm on Whidbey Island that could become the first integrated, commercial-scale matcha-growing and production operation in the U.S.

The farm has already planted its first 12,000 tea plants, with a long-term goal of growing roughly 1 million plants across 200 acres.

And there’s more coming 👀

Vale plans to build:
🍵 An onsite tasting room
🌱 A large-scale tea-growing operation
🏭 A 30,000-square-foot processing facility in Oak Harbor
🚢 A full Pacific Northwest tea production pipeline, from Whidbey Island to Seattle

The company says its bigger vision is to help establish the PNW as a major tea-growing region — similar to how Napa became synonymous with American w**e.

The tasting room is expected to be part of the visitor experience as the farm develops over the next couple of years.
