If it seemed a little quiet around here on our social media this summer… it was. ☀️ And for a pretty good reason.

We made a conscious effort to soak up as much time with family as we could. We hosted “Cousin Camp,” spent time with family in Spokane, I snuck away to Coeur d’Alene for a girls’ trip with my sisters, we celebrated our anniversary in Vancouver, and visited friends (and filmed an episode of The American Dream) in Leavenworth.

One of the biggest highlights was our trip to Bear Lake for a family reunion and to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. We managed to get the my parents, all four of my siblings, their spouses, and almost all the kids together. It was a such a great week. 🤍

We even managed to squeeze in more renovations on our own house. And we really enjoyed the stretches when we could simply be home.

Behind the scenes, though, real estate never stopped. We continued helping our clients buy, sell, negotiate, inspect, close, and navigate all the things that come with making a move.

We love what we do, but we’re also incredibly grateful that this career gives us the flexibility to be present for the people and moments that matter most.

So yes, social media took a bit of a back seat this summer. Real life was full, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Now we’re settling back into our routines, gearing up for fall, and looking forward to sharing a little more of both real estate and life around here again. 🍂

Yesterday was one of those days that puts everything into perspective.

We were visiting my sister and her family in Spokane, and we woke up to high winds and warnings that the power would be shut off to help prevent wildfires. Not long after the power went out, we looked outside and saw smoke rising in the distance. Soon there were multiple fires, and before we knew it, we were under an evacuation order.

As we hurried to pack up, a neighbor came over in a panic. Her garage door wouldn’t open because the power was out, and the emergency release cord was missing. Her car was trapped inside.

Thankfully, Tim and my brother-in-law were able to get the door open so she could evacuate. It was such a simple thing, but in that moment it made all the difference.

It was a reminder to us that being prepared isn’t just about having an emergency kit. It’s also about knowing your home and making sure it’s ready for the unexpected.

A few simple things every homeowner should do:

• Know how to manually open your garage door. Make sure the emergency release cord is installed and working.

• Keep important documents and medications in an easy-to-grab place.

• Have a basic emergency kit ready.

• Talk through an evacuation plan with your family before you ever need it.

We made it out safely, and thankfully it looks like my sister’s home is okay. Sadly, many of their friends weren’t as fortunate and have lost their homes.

Emergencies come in many forms… a wildfire, a flood, a gas leak, a house fire, a storm, or another emergency. Whatever the reason, having a plan and making sure your home is ready can make all the difference.

As a real estate agent, I spend a lot of time talking about buying, selling, and maintaining a home. Yesterday was a reminder that one of the most important parts of homeownership is simply being prepared.

I hope this encourages you to take a few minutes today to make a plan—you never know when you’ll need it. ❤️

One of our favorite things about real estate is helping people discover not just homes, but the communities they’re considering calling home. Whether you’re looking for something fun to do this month, keeping an eye on the market, or just want to stay connected with what’s happening locally, we’ve got you covered.

Which item are you most excited about this month? For us, it’s probably a tie between downtown Snohomish, summer events, and spending as much time outside as possible. ☀️

P.S. The peonies are blooming, Luke had a great birthday, and yes... the malasadas were every bit as good as they look. 😋

We are so excited to finally share our segment from The American Dream TV featuring The Net Shed at the Port of Everett! 🎬⚓️🐠

One of the things we loved most while filming this episode was learning the story behind The Net Shed name. Long before the waterfront became what it is today, the original net sheds were gathering places for Everett’s fishing community — places where fishermen and their families mended nets, shared tools, swapped stories, and built deep community ties along the marina.

Getting to sit down with the owners, Sean and Vince, and help tell that story was such an incredible experience.

One of the things we love most about real estate is that it’s never just about homes. It’s about the people, businesses, history, and sense of community that make an area feel special in the first place.

Huge thank you to The Net Shed team and The American Dream TV for this opportunity. We’re incredibly grateful to be able to spotlight local stories and businesses we genuinely love.

You can watch the full episode through the link in our bio, on The American Dream Network website, or by downloading The American Dream TV Network app on Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku, Android TV, or Samsung TV.

For the easiest access, head to the link in our bio! You can also visit our YouTube page to watch just our individual American Dream TV segments. 🙌✨

Some homes sell quickly. Others require strategy, patience, honest conversations, and the willingness to adapt when the market speaks.

This sale was one of the most challenging transactions of our careers — but also one of the most rewarding.

When we took over the listing, we completely refreshed the presentation with staging, new photography and video, Zillow Showcase marketing, and paid advertising. But one of the biggest challenges was helping navigate pricing expectations in a changing market.

The truth is: marketing matters tremendously… but pricing matters too.
Once we were able to reposition the home in alignment with today’s market, we secured a buyer and successfully closed just one week later.

We’re incredibly grateful our seller trusted us through the process, and proud that together we were able to get this home sold successfully.

Real estate isn’t always easy. But we believe our job is to stay committed, strategic, and solution-focused every step of the way. ✨

If you’re thinking about selling and want honest guidance, strategic marketing, and agents who will truly advocate for you through the process, send us a message. We’d love to help you create a game plan for your move.
