Gas furnaces and water heaters burn fuel, and burning fuel takes air. 🔥

Your furnace is not a good roommate. If it pulls that air from a bedroom, it competes with the person sleeping there for oxygen, and it can pull exhaust gases (hello, carbon monoxide) back into the space too.

That's why combustion air can't come from a bedroom. It's a rule, not a suggestion. 😅

If you want a bedroom here, the air supply has to be modified. The furnace needs its own air.
