So you’re thinking about CRNA school? 👀 Before you hit submit on that application, here are 3 things I wish someone had told me:
1️⃣ Your ICU time isn’t just about hours, it’s about the quality of the ICU. Level 1, drips, ventilation, devices, very sick patients daily.
2️⃣ Grades matter (especially those tough science classes), and one bad semester doesn’t define you. Show how you bounced back with retaking an Advance Pharm, Physiology or Bio/ Organic chem
3️⃣ Shadowing a CRNA is HUGE. Not only does it prove your commitment, but it gives you insider perspective schools love. Document your experience, add it to resume. Avoid name dropping- just put” shadowed CRNA at cuz hospital “. Include cases, type of anesthetic etc. Averge time 30-40 hours. Consider different locations: small hospital , surgery center and large hospital
At the end of the day, it’s not just about checking boxes, it’s about showing why YOU belong in that seat. ✨
