HarrisHouses2Homes We are a husband and wife remodeling team. We have been remodeling houses for 12 years. Brandon and Kim are a husband and wife team. That is how it all began.

Dining room transformation. It started as the master bedroom and master bath. After rearranging the entire house, this ended up being the best place for a dining room. Now I just need a longer table…been trying to talk him into this for 2 years. Hasn’t happened yet.

The mirrors we have are extremely heavy. And of course when I went to hang them they weren’t anywhere near studs. So, I cut out the drywall and installed blocking across where they would hang. This way I would be guaranteed to hit wood. Tips: mark where the blocking is. I was about to tile this wall so I marked it on the adjoining wall that wasn’t getting tiled, so when I went to hang the mirrors I knew where the blocks were. Also, no two studs are exactly the same distance apart, so I measured each distance and wrote the measurement on the studs and blocks so I knew which one went where. May be overkill, but makes my day go a little smoother.

Master bath. Here’s the thing with remodeling the houses that you live in. You save the master bath for your last project because that is the part of the house that only you see. Then as soon as you finish the bathroom it’s time to put that baby on the market, Sell the house, enjoy the bathroom those 30 days before closing and then start all over again on an outdated bathroom again. I know, I know, poor me. Thank you for your sympathy.

This is our Renovation Realities kitchen. We opened up the walls between the living room, kitchen and dining room and then moved the kitchen to the dining room. So much electrical, plumbing, flooring, new beams, cabinet and tile work, but so worth it. Yet another kitchen that was hard to leave.

A lot of times it doesn’t take a bunch of money or a professional to pull off a quick update. A new shower door, painting cabinets, tearing down old wallpaper and painting, and some new fixtures is all it took to bring this bathroom into this decade.
