10 years in real estate.
And somehow, it feels like both a lifetime and a blink at the same time.
The failure rate in this business is high. Most agents don't make it past the first few years. It's long hours, emotional moments, unpredictable schedules, and carrying other people's stress while managing your own.
But through every season of life, this career kept calling me back.
I started real estate after losing a pregnancy. I needed something to keep my mind busy, to pour myself into while navigating heartbreak. Within a year, I was expecting again.
Then life threw another challenge my way. During a complicated pregnancy, I spent three months inpatient at Vanderbilt. And still, this career gave me purpose. I wrote and managed contracts from a hospital room. I kept going because helping people gave me something steady to hold onto.
My kids truly grew up in this business with me.
Greyson came to the office for sales meetings. I wrote contracts with a baby in my lap. One of my babies tagged along to showings and closings because sometimes motherhood and business didn't happen separately. They happened together.
Now, 10 years later, Olivia and Greyson are healthy. I'm healthy. And I'm more grateful than words can explain.
Real estate was never just about houses for me.
It became the perfect blend of everything I love:
- Marketing and strategy
- Economic development and community growth
- Helping people through some of the biggest moments of their lives
But most importantly, this career taught me compassion.
Because when you've walked through hard seasons, you learn how important it is to truly hear people. To show up for them. To make stressful moments feel a little less overwhelming.
That's what I hope I've done for my clients over the last decade.
Not just helped people buy and sell homes, but celebrated wins, carried stress, and made life feel easier during major transitions.
To every client, friend, family member, lender, attorney, inspector, and fellow agent who's supported me over the last 10 years. Thank you.
This business changed my life in ways I never expected. And I still love it as much as I did on day one.
Here's to the next chapter. 🖤
