Had such a great day learning at the 2026 Montana Economic Report hosted by the Bureau of Business and Economic Research. This year’s main topic was ~Sales Tax~ which is a hotly debated topic in Montana.

The day was full of good information but what stood out to me most was that “Using a general sales tax to lower property taxes would not increase tax revenue from nonresidents because of the large share of Montana property tax payments made by out-of-state addresses.”

What are your thoughts on a sales tax in Montana? Let me know in the comments!
