For those of you who don’t know, my family and I have been doing Ultimate Hikes for Cure Search for the past few years. Cure Search is a pediatric cancer research non profit that is funding research for pediatric cancer trials at an accelerated pace.

The work they are supporting is having a direct impact on the survival rates of little kiddos with cancer. We know, because our now 16 year old son was on several of their trials when he was 4 years old fighting his own fight.

So, as you can imagine, Cure Search holds a very special spot in our hearts. This year, we are again jumping in with both feet, literally, to help them raise funds for their important projects. The four of us have committed to two separate hikes this summer. 21 miles in June and 19 in September, both single day hikes. Our training started a month ago and will continue each weekend until we are done. (Yep, my fat butt is going to “practice” hike 14 miles this weekend)

Every mile that we hike is a tiny reminder of how many miles we still have left to get to a point where kids cancer is a survivable event.

Every single penny that we raise, along with the other hikers, goes directly to Cure Search and their programs.

Join us on the trail, or join us on the fund raising journey. Every single dollar raised between now and May 11th, Old Mill Homes will match dollar for dollar, no matter how big or small that number is. I challenge anyone else in the construction industry to do the same.
