When clients become family...
A few months ago I spoke with a gentleman who was helping his mother look for a home. I assured him during our first conversation that I would take care of her and treat her as if she were my own.
Since then we've spent many hours in the car together looking at property. We talked about God, family, life, and food. We have laughed and cried. As interest rates continue to climb everyday we have been outpriced from different areas, so we'd move to the next. But, we never gave up and never lost hope. After one of our road trips I dropped her off and she said, "You are not just my Realtor, you are family!" We hugged and I left crying and overwhelmed with joy.
One day the following week we decided on New Port Richey area. We checked out their Downtown and it was perfect for my client. So we started the search. We found one that was priced significantly higher than our budget but let go and let God. We looked at it after breaking in (per the agents approval), giggled at the cute quirks of the home, and imagined the sweet people that lived there. It was the first day on the market so we decided to give it some time if it were going to be a lower offer to have more of a chance of them considering it.
Yesterday we submitted the offer and explained the situation and gave them a sweet and genuine letter from my client. It turns out the sellers' mother owned the home and it was the children that were selling. After getting to know my clients history and the fact that she just wanted to make it "home", her first ever home, and enjoy her grandkids after beating breast cancer twice, the sellers came back and accepted our offer. They said that they just knew their mother would want my client to have the home.
Fighting back tears of joy and happiness for my client I called to deliver the news. Wow! We did it and were both blubbering with joy, relief, and excitement. I told her that nobody deserved this more than her and I was so happy for her! All along her greatest wish is that she would be in her very own home before Thanksgiving, even if it meant sleeping on an air mattress. Our closing date is scheduled for November 21!
God showed up and showed out for her! I have never met such a beautiful soul so deserving of the blessings she's been given! Wish us luck as we continue to approach our closing date.
