This is what the inside of the cupola looks like in the Tennessee capital building. It takes about ~1,000 pounds of bronze to make one window. The 60’s replacement windows are gone, and we are going back in time to 1845 when they were double hung windows. 100% bronze frame and sash all glazed with VIG glass units; all custom from the ground up (~200 feet in the air, to be exact!).

The Edith Memorial Chapel was built in 1895 and is still in use today on the campus of the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, NJ. The chapel is home to a collection of Tiffany windows. The large transept windows were removed over 2 years ago and have been in storage ever since. The restoration is now beginning! The photos depict some of the first panels being dismantled for restoration. Keeping track of every piece and its orientation within the retaining matrix is imperative. We will post more photos as the restoration progresses.

Restoration work being performed by The Gil Studio under F&A’s direction. ()

It was such an amazing opportunity to join APTI at the Craft Trades Spotlight! We had the chance to work hands on with enthusiastic individuals interested in stained glass, sharing a bit of our story and even teaching others how to solder! Stained glass preservation is alive and well—and it continues to thrive thanks to organizations like APTI and many others.

Thank you to Zach Green and Roberto Rosa for their support!

What a pleasure it was to work with the Morristown & Morris Township Library on restoring some of their windows. Collaborating with and Bob Russel from was equally enjoyable and we’re proud to have been a part of the restoration!
