The only thing I wanted for Mother’s Day 2025 was time with my dad and I got it. We shared breakfast, drove all around New Orleans, and revisited the neighborhood that raised me.
We laughed, we reminisced, and we simply were. I didn’t realize then that it would be my last Mother’s Day with him, but I understand it now.
After that day, we were blessed with more moments before he passed this April. We laid him to rest just one day before Mother’s Day 2026, bringing everything full circle in a way only God can.
Looking back, I’m reminded how important it is to listen to that quiet voice inside you. The one that says go, call, visit, stay a little longer. The job can wait. The budget can be adjusted.
Time cannot be replaced.
Show up for the ones that matter the most.
Choose moments over everything.
A smile never left my dads face and it will never leave mines. 😊
