Eight years ago, I took a chance on myself and started my real estate career, and I’m incredibly proud of how far I've come, both as a Realtor and as a human being.

I’ve met some amazing people in the process and changed lives in ways I didn’t know were even possible. This job also changed me in ways I didn’t know were even possible. I’ve learned so much over the last eight years about sales, sure. But I’ve learned even more about people and life, all from helping others buy and sell homes. I’ve made friends and built relationships through this career. I’ve walked clients through transactions while they’re in the middle of the hardest changes and crises in their lives. I’ve walked clients through transactions while *I* was in the middle of my own crises. I’ve sharpened my problem-solving skills and built resilience like you wouldn’t believe.

If I could go back and talk to that bright-eyed, bushy-tailed whippersnapper, I would tell her to buck up, because she is capable of so much more than she believes, and her life will be better for making this decision. She will meet all kinds of amazing people, and that true success is found in community, so find your people. There will be difficult seasons, but holding strong through the tough times is what builds resilience. Finally, it’s okay to let things be imperfect, because even if you make a mistake, there’s nothing that can’t be fixed!

Seven years ago, I took a leap of faith and chose self-employment after burning out working for other people. Little did I know that I’d work the most I have, ever, but I would learn so much about myself in the process, love the people I’d get to work with, and the work I put in would buy me the freedom to do more of what I love.

If I could go back and tell that younger version of myself anything, I would tell her that she is much more capable than she thinks, and to not let inexperience intimidate her. I would tell her to not be afraid to be imperfect and just do the work, meet people, and stay focused. Finally, I would tell her that if she gets scared, to do it scared and don’t let the fear win!

Being a business owner is not for the faint of heart, but it is absolutely worth the long hours and the hard work, and I’m proud of how far I've come! 💜

Mad Dogs & Englishmen is a British-themed restaurant with an elegant atmosphere and amazing food! It’s one of my favorite date night spots in Tampa. With live music, indoor and outdoor seating, a dog-friendly patio, a stellar cocktail menu, and recently added to the Michelin guide in 2025, you can’t pick a better place to grab a bite on a Saturday evening!
