Are you ready for the cold??!!! 🥶🥶
Here comes the first big cold snap for winter!! 🌬☃️🌧Are you ready?!?!🥶 Here are some Winter propane safety Tips:
1. Be Prepared: Check your propane supply! Companies recommend calling to schedule delivery when you tank is at 40%-20%
2. Conserve Energy: You can conserve your propane supply by setting your thermostat as low as is comfortable and closing off any rooms that don’t need to be heated.
3. If You Smell Gas Act Quickly: Propane has a strong, unpleasant smell like rotten eggs, a skunk’s spray, or a dead animal. f you smell any of these odors in your home, you may have a gas leak. Immediately put out all smoking materials and other open flames. Do not operate lights, appliances, telephones or cellphones. Get everyone away from the home or area where you suspect gas is leaking. If you can do it safely, close or shut off the main gas supply valve by turning it to the right. Call your supplier!
4. Never Use Outdoor Propane Appliances for Indoor Heat: Only use appliances indoors that are designed and approved for indoor use. Never store, place or use a propane cylinder indoors or in enclosed spaces.
5. Keep your Tank Accessible: Keeps brush and fences and debris away from the tank. Consider placing a brightly colored flag or pole next to your tank or underground tank access point so it can be easily found in deep snow. When clearing snow and ice from the tank, use a broom or your hands to prevent damage to your propane system.
