Sometimes, kindness shows up quietly—and sometimes our Groundworkers have a little fun helping us share it.

A generous community member recently dropped off two dozen pairs of reading glasses for anyone who could use them. We may never get the chance to meet the person behind this thoughtful gift, but their kindness will be seen clearly.

And thanks to a few willing Groundworkers, so were the glasses.

To the neighbor behind this quiet act of kindness: thank you for thinking of others and helping make every day needs a little easier to meet.

Community Meal at the Chalet. Community is built in the everyday moments we share. Recently at our permanent supportive housing site, a Groundworker prepared BLTs with fresh local tomatoes and lettuce—and bacon cooked to perfection—for residents and staff to enjoy together. Sharing a meal is a simple tradition, but an important one. It creates space for connection, conversation, and belonging, reminding us that housing is about more than having a place to live. It’s also about being part of a community. Sometimes, community looks like gathering around the table.
