Good afternoon! Here is your Weekly Market Update. Rates are very similar to last week, but with a lot of daily volatility in between.

The Fed did raise rates, which the market appreciated. However, Warsh warned against future rate hikes as well.

On Friday, Pulte put out a statement that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are going to purchase more Mortgage Backed Securities, which should also help interest rates. The bottom line, though, is that we need to get out of the conflict in Iran for real movement.

Did P.T. Barnum really use elephants to get his circus train over Boreas Pass?

In December 1881, Summit County teachers and students headed outside to watch the first “Iron Horse” steam into Dillon. Two narrow-gauge railroads competed to haul the county’s gold and silver: the Denver South Park & Pacific over Boreas Pass and the Denver & Rio Grande through Leadville and Ten Mile Canyon.
Railroads operated in Summit County for 56 years, from 1881–1937. The rough mountain tracks made for slow, bumpy rides—earning the DSP&P the nickname “Darn Slow Pulling & Pretty Rough Riding!”
