Some of the most important parts of a home search don’t happen inside the homes at all - they happen in the car rides between them.
And if you pay attention, it matters who’s in the front seat…and who’s in the back.
For kids, it’s less about square footage and primary ensuite baths, and a little more about imagination.
Bunk beds and lofts, calling dibs on rooms, and trying to picture what life might feel like in a place where you can ski or bike almost any day you’re here.
And then there’s what’s outside the window.
Moose, foxes, rivers, ski runs, bike trails, endless woods, and mountain tops. A landscape that pulls you in, shaping campfire stories before you even realize it.
That stayed with me - in a Three Little Bears kind of way - finding something that’s not too big, not too small, but just right.
And I created a small Mountain Home Coloring Journey activity book to help kids stay engaged and feel included while families tour homes with me across Summit County.
Crayons included. No age limit on the journey.
Because in a place like this, it’s often not just kids doing the imagining.
It’s all of us.
